We offer a variety of yoga classes & ground based classes. Classes range from beginner to advance, in complimentary styles for climbers, and aerialists alike. Yoga combines movement to breath and develops strength, balance, flexibility and body awareness.

Conditioning and Hand Balance

Core Conditioning

This class will take place in the weight room. We will go over strength training skills to improve our aerial abilities as well as covering full body workouts to keep your body healthy and well rounded.

Hand Balance

Let's take some time to get reacquainted with the ground and have a look at things upside down! We'll explore pathways and learn foundational drills and skills that get us to the ideal alignment in our handstand. Whether you're new to handstands or an advanced balancer, this class is designed for all kinds of movers. The class size is limited to 8 people and fitted athletic clothing is recommended to easily check alignment in the mirror.

Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga Flow

Aerial Yoga Flow incorporates elements from traditional Vinyasa style yoga classes. Movement is linked through music and breath to increase body awareness and to foster mind/body connection while using the silk hammock to facilitate deeper stretches and challenging poses while flowing through yoga asana.

Aerial Yoga Restorative 

Take your Yoga practice to new heights in the safety of an aerial hammock. Aerial Yoga is a fun way to get fit as you use your core, back, arms, and legs to move into each stretch with steadiness and ease. Increase your strength and flexibility, while having fun. All levels and abilities are welcome.

This is a restorative class, focused on flexibility, deep stretching and breath, while holding poses for an extended period of time.

With the growth of the Aerial community, we now require new students to take at least 4 Intro to Aerial classes; which is a prerequisite to taking any other Aerial apparatus, pending instructor permission.

*Students must take 4 Intro to Aerial classes before taking Beginner Level Hammock, Silks, Lyra, or Trapeze.

Intro to Aerial

Intro Students will learn the basic fundamentals of silks including wrist locks, foot locks, and climbing.

Silks -

Aerial silks is a specialty fabric students use to climb, wrap, twist, bend, and drop in a variety of positions and movements. Fabrics can spin, swing, or remain static depending on how the student manipulates the silks.

 Beginner Silks

Aerial silks (also called aerial tissue, tissue, aerial fabric, etc.) is a specialty fabric students use to climb, wrap, twist, bend, and drop in a variety of positions and movements. Fabrics can spin, swing, or remain static depending on how the student manipulates the silks.

Beginner Students will learn the basic fundamentals of silks including wrist locks, foot locks, and climbing.
*Students must complete Four (4) Intro to Aerial classes before taking Beginner classes.

Length

  • 60 minutes, please arrive 15 minutes early to be ready to start class

Intermediate Students will expand on the basics and take everything up in the air. We will go over basic silk drops and begin on putting together sequences of multiple moves. 

Structure

  • Maximum of 7 participants (1 person per point)

Classes fill up consistently, if you want to guarantee a spot, you must register online or at the front desk prior to the class.

Hammock -

Aerial Hammock is a specialty fabric students use to climb, wrap, twist, bend, and drop in a variety of positions and movements. Fabrics can spin, swing, or remain static depending on how the student manipulates the apparatus.

Intermediate Hammock was created for those who have the desire to take their hammock skills to the performance level. With a focus on fabric choreography, students will learn to condition skills that are necessary for becoming successful in the performance world and gain confidence in their art.

  • Saturday at 1:45pm with Ashley

Aerial Hammock is taught on the beginner level, focusing on basic skills, body awareness, and strength conditioning. Basic skills include (but are not limited to) inverts, spinning, entrances into the fabric, flexibility, fabric locks, and pointed toes.

Lyra & Trapeze -

Asana Aerial Arts

Lyra - All Levels Instruction

Also known as Aerial Hoop, students will learn movement, shapes and technique to create sequences below, above and within the lyra. Students will also begin to connect these sequences with a spin.

  • Intermediate Lyra - Wednesday at 7:00pm
  • All Levels Lyra - Saturday at 12:30pm

Duo Aerial - Multi Apparatus

This class is for those wanting to try duo aerial. Students will learn the basics of flying and basing on a variety of apparatuses. 

Prerequisite: Must be intermediate level or above and be comfortable inverting for longer periods of time.

Straps & Conditioning -

Aerial Straps - All Levels Instruction

In this course, students will start by learning aerial conditioning movements to build a solid foundation for straps, such as straight arm inversions, skin the cats, nutcrackers, and meathooks. Advanced students will revisit the straps conditioning essentials while also exploring higher-level strength moves such as back flags, levers, roll-up, and muscle-ups. All of which are tailored to the student's pace and level. The aerial straps discipline requires a good deal of strength and primarily targets the shoulders and upper body. The course will help to increase your strength overall and serves as a great cross-training apparatus for any aerial discipline or climbing alike.

At Asana, we want to offer other like-minded activities and classes that bring many of the same parallel challenges as climbing does through moving meditation and community, such as Yoga and Aerial Arts. Whether you're looking to compliment your climbing routine or simply want to experience these classes alone, we can accommodate you.

Booking/registration is required for all participants in order to guarantee your spot as classes do fill up! You may book any of the classes below by following the booking links in each description.*

  • Step 4 - Login using your Online Account credentials
    • Both your Online Account (website) and RGPro Connect Login credentials are identical
  • Step 5 - Use App!

Aerial Cancellations

  • Students must Cancel four (4) hours prior to class (to avoid penalty)
    • Cancellations via Email or RGP Mobile App
  • One Student Minimum to hold class
    • Otherwise class will be cancelled two (2) hours in advance
    • Students & Instructors will be notified by Front Desk via On-File Email if class is cancelled (Update us if necessary!)
    • Refunds will be issued automatically if cancelled by Asana

THE ASANA STORY

Asana began in Boise in 1999 in our founder's garage as a manufacturing company producing “Everything Bouldering”. The company grew and became the market leader in custom padding systems for climbing gyms across the US. In 2013, the company incorporated the Asana Climbing Gym to truly provide all things bouldering. Today, the gym is ever evolving as we are the premiere facility offering bouldering, aerial, and circus arts!
