Turn inward, explore your subtle edges, and discover how yoga can be an incredible teacher and cross-trainer to complement your climbing. You do not have to have any experience with yoga: all levels are welcome. You are encouraged to bring your own mat and water. However, all equipment is provided if you don’t have your own. Please notify your instructor of any health concerns or injuries that you may be working with before the class begins.
This class will help link the breath to mindful movement. All-levels are welcome as we start with basic sequences, then add optional heat-builders and challenging variations to the postures. Vinyasa's strengthening and stretching style is a great compliment to climbing. Come destress!
In this class we will begin by holding poses for a longer period of time (2-5 minutes) in order to target the interconnectedness of larger muscles groups on the fascial plane. This, in addition to maintaining awareness of the connection of breath and movement, sets you up for a more active flow that will work perfectly as a warm-up for climbing or a cool-down post-climb.
Get strong in body and mind, connect with your breath, awaken your senses, and learn how to inhabit your body as Sherika guides you through progressive movement flows, designed to slowly warm the various parts of the body before activating the movement into larger, more powerful postures, balance sequences, and deep stretches.
Classes will range from slow, restorative, joint-focused movement sequences to faster-paced, energy building, sweat sessions that will leave your body feeling opened and alive.
Our mission is to facilitate a positive environment and atmosphere, full of challenges and excitement, in order to create personal and community growth. In this growth, we are challenged to become better people: physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially!
Asana began in Boise in 1999 as a manufacturing company producing “Everything Bouldering”. The company grew and became the market leader in custom padding systems for climbing gyms across the US. In 2013, the company evolved and incorporated the Asana Climbing Gym to truly provide all things bouldering. Now in 2016, the gym is expanding into a new facility!
